the negotiation

Conlin is an expert negotiator.  This morning, we decided we were in the mood for buttermilk pancakes.  We were missing some ingredients, so Conlin called his mom.  This is what I overheard:

Conlin: "What up, Suzie?  Question...do you have buttermilk?  We're thinking about making pancakes."
To me: "What else do we need?"
Me: "Eggs.  And the recipe.  So, I don't know.  Maybe we need more?"
Conlin (to mother): "We need eggs, too.  And the recipe.  Actually...do you just want to make us breakfast?"

Bless his heart.  At least he's to the point.
