anniversary: year four

Monday was mine and Conlin's four-year anniversary.  Dr. Suess nicely sums up my thoughts on our relationship:

"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

We're compatibly weird which means we fall asleep laughing at jokes that would only make us laugh, sympathizing with weird happenings that only a fellow oddball would understand, and feeling safe with our particular quirks because we found someone that matches.

We went to P.F. Changs for our anniversary and received fortune cookies after dinner.   I read mine and then Conlin broke his cookie.  He unfolded his paper and hesitated for a telling second.  I interjected, "Save it.  I already know you're thinking of how to word some kinky sexual prediction."  And he cracked up, "You know me so well."

I get him and he gets me.
I am more myself with Conlin than without.  And I don't think I could ask for more.
